What's Hot

We have plenty of new stuff that has arrived this month as well as a few old favourites coming back in to the store.

Firstly  the first shipment of Jai Poppers arrived and most were sold out in 3 days. The Big Head popper didn't even make it to the shelf.  But dont worry, the new shipment has arrived.  The beauty of these lures are that they are proven to be very successful in landing big GT and cost only $29.95.

We have also recieved a new shipment of Seven Seas Jigs.  The Hooker jig has proven very successful and a complete range is now available.

Tranzams are back in stock in a mixture of new colours and old. These are killer lures for snapper, sweetlip and emperors on the inshore reefs as well as jacks, jewies and threadies in the rivers. Jackall Doozers at 85mm are a giant version of the hugely popular smaller vibes. They work great on a variety of species, from Murray cod and barra to GTs and snapper.

In micro lures we have a range of 35mm Zipbait Rigges in stock. These come in both floating and slow sinking versions. In jack lures we have new Smith Tachi Deep lures. These are 95mm long and are a slowsinker in saltwater. This makes them ideal for walking down the front of a rock wall or for drifting in under pontoons in the canals. On the barra front, we are now stocking Classic Barras and Halco Scorpions. For bluewater trollers we now have Halco Laser Pros in the larger sizes.

We have had a bunch of DVD’s arrive today, some new and some old favourites as well, including the Mal Florence series which was shot in the 80’s but still looks great today. A new shipment of Egrell rods has arrived. A couple of new Megabass rods have arrived in the store with more to come at the end of the month. The Orochi F4-74XS Jade Python is a light tipped spin rod with a powerful butt section. The blank is made from very high percentage carbon, with less resin than regular graphite and wrapped with a double helix of titanium wires for super sensitivity and responsiveness. It is rated to cast 1/16-5/8oz and fish lines from 5-16lb. In typical Megabass style it also features a stunning ‘snakeskin’ like paint job on the lower half of the blank. The F51/2-68XFTI Diablo is a powerful baitcast rod suiting dam barra and cod. It has a very fast action fishing braid from 20-30lb easily. The blank is also made from very high modulus carbon but features titanium wires running lengthwise through the rod to increase the ‘steely’ feel and recovery of the rod.  More Megabass rods are being unpacked as I write so drop in for a closer look.

We have received some more Zenaq rods just recently.  These are awesome Japanese rods which are only available from Fish Head in Australia. Everything from ultra light bream rods through to jig sticks, GT and Tuna rods.  These rods are have just arrived so drop in and have a play with some of the sweetest rods we have seen in a while.

We are very lucky to have the only Scott Warm Water Rods in Australia.  We have a #8 and a #10 left - with the #6 being spoken for before we even received it.  These are great new rods from Scott and very impressive.

Egrell rods have made a big splash in the local scene recently. Designed and built by Eric Grell, bream, snapper and tuna anglers have really fallen in love with the rods. Sensitive tip sections coupled with powerful butts and Eric’s distinct build make these rods really something special, particularly for soft plastics anglers. At the time of writing we are stocked up with plenty of the S1, S2 and S10 rods in both the high modulus Egrell and intermediate modulus Bear range.  With Tuna season approaching you should really check out some of the Egrell rods built for targeting this awesome fish.
