The 18000 and 20000 Stellas are now in stock.  We have been waiting a long time for these reels so it is great to finally have them.  There are some very definite improvements on the old Stellas so if you are a Stella Person you should drop in and have a look.

There has been some talk around about the Egrell B10.  We have been carrying this rod since Eric first built it for us about 8 months ago.  It is an ideal heavy soft plastic baitcaster and big cod rod, as well as being a great dam barra rod.  Being built on the S10 blank it has the same light tip, matched to an incredibly powerful butt section.  If you would like to have a look at it we carry the B10 in stock.

Gordon and the boys are back from their holiday to Christmas Island.  They had an awesome time fly fishing for bonefish and popping for GT.  Come on in and hear all about it.  They had a great time.

We have just received a shipment of the very cool high speed version of the popular Daiwa Certate Hyper Custom 4000 Hyper reel. (the reel must be faster it has red trimmings .  This reel comes with a new style ball handle and shallower spool than original (the spool holds 200m of PE2).  If you would like to have a look first hand just drop into our store at Victoria Point.  The reel will go onto our website in coming weeks.

Received a call a few minutes ago from a very excited David Love to say he just caught a 96cm Snapper.  You could hear the smile in his voice.  David lands some awesome fish and this beauty was enticed by a 7" Bass Assassin plastic.  The boys are still on the water but he has promised to send through photos.  Just goes to show the snapper are there even on days that don't look so great.  As for the spot - well David and Gary have been exploring - the new spot is now known as Dave's spot. Congratulations David!

Although Fish Head does not sell any of these flares it is possible that many of you may use them and could be affected.  Following is more information.

Some of you may have guessed that I have been away for the last couple of weeks and hence there haven't been any BLOG entries.  I arrived back this morning and wow so much has happened while I have been away.   My very jet lagged brain almost exploded when I dropped into the store this morning.  There is so much new gear I don't quite know where to start.  As soon as I recover I will start posting up what there is but to give you a sample ............

The long awaited Spin-4-Barra rod is in store now.  This new addition to the Egrell Bear range has been extensively tested on big barra and has performed brilliantly.  There is more info in this months "The Tight Line" .  If you haven't subscribed to "The Tight Line"  you can do so on our website.

We have been sending Zoom Horny Toads to the guys fishing for Barra for a long time now and they have been having tremendous success.  Duncan has a theory that the toads will be good for other species as well and so we have expanded our range to include even more colours.

Wow - I watched the first story on Barra two nights ago and it was awesome.  Top water fishing with toads makes for some great action.  I am definitely booking my Barra trip soon.  For those of you who love this type of fishing we carry a large range of horny toads - just what you need to entice those big Barra.

At Fish Head we run regular jigging trips with Bill Corten.  Fish Head provides all the gear you need or you can bring along your own gear.  The trips are designed for peope who are starting out with jigging, you learn what jigs to use, where, how, what to look for on the sounder and much more.  For those who have been jigging before let us know when you book and we will put you with other fishermen who have similar experience.  Numbers are limited to 3 people per trip.

After 18 months of planning Duncan, Andrew, Nathan, Brock, Matt, Mark and Kim flew out by floatplane to Marion Reef this morning for a week of jigging and popping.  We hope to see some amazing photos by this time next week.  Hope you have a fantastic time guys!

At the moment the forecast for Saturday is looking great for Moreton Bay and Offshore.  (Sunday the wind may pick up a bit).  Duncan's call would be Southern Bay Islands for snapper and bream and the shallow offshore reefs for snapper, sweetlip and cobia.

For those of you who know Victoria Point you will know the lake beside the restaurants and cinemas here in Victoria Point.  Tonight we went to get dinner from Indique (excellent food by the way).  We had to do the compulsory stop to look at the turtles in the lake.  Lachlan, our 3 year old, bent down looked through the rails very intently then turned around and in an extremely excited voice said  "Daddy, there would be fish in there!  We need our rods!"  He then proceeded to give us a demo of how he would be winding in his big fish.  Looks like all that training is paying off.

We received a shipment yesterday of some great rods.  Ranging from spinning rods for bream right through to Baitcasters for Barra the Pfleuger rods represent excellent value for money being priced between $100 to $150 (normally they would sell for $200 - $300).  The boys are really impressed with the quality of the rods hence why the big range. 

The boys are out of control.  We have had so much new fly tying material arrive in the past week I don't know how we are going to fit it.  For those of you who are really busy there are also hundreds of new flies to chose from.

With Tuna's busting up in the bay and lots of people off to Christmas Island and Weipa now is the time to have a look at your fly reels and see if they are up to the task.

FCL LABO lure are THE lure to have in Japan at the moment.  Their cult following and limited production runs makes them extremely difficult to get.  Fish Head has spent the last three months tracking down these amazing big poppers and stickbaits.  I was so excited when the shipment finally arrived from Japan that the postman thought I had gone crazy.

Every day at Fish Head sees something new and exciting happening.  Whether it be new rods, reels, lures or a fishing trip we always have a lot going on.  The delimma we have been having is how to keep you up to date with new products etc.  "The Tight Line"  is an excellent source of information but many of the "hot" products come in and are sold within days and it is easy to miss out.  Our solution is our new Blog.
